Survival

Pooled Emotions
Dec 21, 2020

At times like these, I find myself in the moments of survival. Finishing work, making dinner, filling my brain with tasks that need completion. Answering one or two texts only to immerse myself in more work. To glance at the time one moment and the next, to notice it is a whole 3 hours later. To look out the window and really take in the lack of daylight, it is now dark. How did the day just pass me by? This is parenthood, the moments when time flies past seconds of caring and love. Parenthood is a form of time travel. One more task, one more kiss, one more bath. Then, the day is done. Sometimes you just have to accept what you didn’t accomplish and move on.
